Steps taken to catch Karuppan by using drone

The forest department is engaged in drone monitoring to find a lone Karuppan elephant, which was roaming in villages near Jeerahalli and Thalavadi after its exit from Sathy Tiger Reserve (STR) recently. It killed 2 ryots so far and damaged crops in many fields. 

Three Kumki elephants were summoned to catch the single black elephant.  Also 4 forest veterinarians  and 150 forest workers are engaged in the operation to capture the single elephant.  In the first phase, they placed jackfruits on the Mariapuram Tank and Rangasamy temple route from Thursday night till dawn.  As it did not come, the officials planned to use a drone to find it.
