Stringent action should be taken against those involved in crime against women and children: CM

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday directed officials to take stringent action against those who involve in  crime against women and children, and to take necessary steps to abolish illegal liquor and drug menace across the state.
Stalin took part in the IAS, IPS and IFS officers conference that took place at the secretariat in the city. Addressing the gathering, he said, “No space should be given to those who try to polarize the public ahead of the parliamentary election. Our first aim is to ensure peace and harmony at public gathering places.”
Pointing out that Tamil Nadu has been one of the states where deaths due to road accidents are high, he said that steps should be taken to control traffic congestion across the state.
“Drug and illegal liquor menace should be abolished completely and stringent action should be taken against those who sell them. Those who are involved in crime against women and children should not be spared. Action should be taken against those who spread fake news,” he added.
