Students of Bharathidasan University Hold a Key Responsibility: M.K. Stalin

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged students graduating from Bharathidasan University to uphold social responsibility and moral values while contributing to the progress of Tamil Nadu and the nation. He made these remarks while attending the convocation ceremony of the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) in Tiruchirappalli, where he also conferred degrees upon graduating students.
Addressing the gathering, Stalin said, “Today is a significant day in the lives of the graduating students. The Bharathidasan Institute of Management has earned a unique reputation for academic excellence. Students of Bharathidasan University bear an important responsibility toward society.”
Highlighting Tamil Nadu’s leadership in education, the Chief Minister said, “Tamil Nadu is the best-performing state in higher education. The Dravidian movement enabled access to education for communities that were once denied the opportunity. Former Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi introduced several transformative schemes in higher education, and our government continues to advance that legacy.”
Emphasizing the importance of leadership and foresight, Stalin said, “True leadership lies in the impact one creates. Only those who can foresee the future will stand out in their fields. As Thiruvalluvar said, one should never begin any task without proper planning. Wherever you go, act with love, virtue, and purpose.”
He also advised students to remain grounded in principles even during challenging times. “Honesty, faith, and patience should never be abandoned. High thinking leads to success, and honesty is the measure of knowledge. Those who succeed must extend a helping hand to the students following them,” he added.
The event was attended by senior faculty members, university officials, and students, marking a proud moment for the graduating batch.
