Tirupur Sir Collector Ms. Soumya Anand distributed education loans worth Rs.1.68 Cr to 23 students in the Special Educational Loan Camp held at Tirupur District Collectorate.
The camp was organized by the district administration and Lead Bank (Canara Bank) for the benefit of college students from various parts of Tirupur district. More than 200 students along with their parents and more than 14 banks including Bank of Baroda, SBI, IOB, Canara, Union Bank participated.
More than 2,060 students have been given educational loans to the tune of Rs.90 crore in the current academic year in Tirupur district. It was advised to create awareness among the public about TAHDCO, DIC Loan Schemes, Prime Minister's Scheme for Small Food Processing Enterprises etc.
It was advised to expeditiously scrutinize the applications of roadside vendors and grant loans and create awareness about government insurance schemes, other bank loans and benefits of proper repayment, to resolve customer grievances against banks.
All the applications received in this camp will be scrutinized and the education loan will be given promptly, officials said. District Lead Bank Manager Ravi, Excise Supervisory Officer A. Kanimozhi, participated in the camp.
