Suguna PIP school student to play in Asian championship for basketball

The city-based Suguna PIP school organized an appreciation ceremony for its student who had qualified to participate in the Asian championship for basketball tournament.
South Asian eligibility round to participate in Asian championship for basketball tournament under the 16-year category took place in Sri Lanka on August 28. The Indian team has defeated the Sri Lankan team and qualified to participate in the Asian championship.

Coimbatore-based Aadavan was also part of the Indian team and he is the first person to represent the country from the city. Suguna PIP school located near Kalapatti has organized an appreciation ceremony for him and the event was presided over by chairman of Suguna groups Lakshmi Narayanasamy. School correspondent Suguna, Aadavan's parents Kumaresan and Jayamani attended the event.
Speaking to reporters, the player said, "I have been studying in the school since my childhood and started playing basketball when I was in class II. When I was the captain for the Coimbatore team, we came first at the state level. My ambition is to represent the country in international tournaments and I am confident of that."

 School's senior principal Martin, principal Poovanan, academic coordinator Shoba, physical education director Alvin Francis and others attended the event.
