Summer festival preparations in full swing in Yercaud

Preparations are going on in full swing for the summer festival in Yercaud which is being held after two years.Flower show being the major event, the Department of Horticulture is busy preparing the flower displaysand making floral decorations. 

At Anna Park where the flower show will be held, about 10,000 flower pots are being developed. These include more than 40 varieties such as balsam, zenias, chrisanthamums, beigonias, cosmos and coronation.
About 4000 delia flowers have been brought by flight from Kolkatta and are being developed in flower pots.

Thematic flower decorations (flower sculptures) used to be a major attraction in Yercaud.
This edition of the flower show will also feature large and attractive sculptures. 
The officials took time to interact with tourists to know their feed back on the themes and design of sculptures. 

A question / answer box has also been kept near the gate of the Anna Park and views from the public are solicited.Beautification works like manicuring the lawns and re-painting the water fountain are also going on.

With the flowers in bloom tourists who have started to arrive have a good visual feast for their eyes ahead of the festival.
According to official sources the summer festival is likely to be held in the end of May. 
The festival could not be held in the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. As the festival is being held after two years the expectations are high among the tourists.
