Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPISTM) marked World Sustainable Energy Day by organising a guest lecture on sustainability in real-time industry practice.
Dr. P Alli Rani, Director of SVPISTM, presided over the event, encouraging students to become sustainability warriors and advocate for eco-friendly practices and responsible waste management. She emphasised the role of young professionals in shaping a greener future.
The guest speaker, E Sakthivel, Managing Director of Punarbhavaa Sustainable Products, Tiruppur, delivered an insightful lecture on integrating sustainability into business strategies. He stressed that sustainability is a responsibility reflected in every action and detailed his company’s initiatives in reusing wastewater and promoting sustainable production methods.
Sakthivel also discussed the importance of customer-centric approaches in sustainable businesses, highlighting the 'No Minimum Order Quantity' (MOQ) policy, which allows small businesses and individuals to adopt sustainable alternatives without bulk constraints.
The session was highly interactive, with students engaging in discussions on sustainable business strategies and eco-friendly innovations.
This initiative aligns with SVPISTM’s commitment to incorporating sustainability into education and industry collaborations, preparing students to become responsible professionals in the textile and management sectors.
