Swiggy and Bhumi NGO collaborate for cleaner, greener Madras

In honor of the foundation of Madras city in Tamil Nadu, commonly known as Madras Day, Swiggy, the food delivery platform of choice in the city, organized a beach cleaning drive at Elliots Beachin partnership with Bhumi, a city-based NGO.

The initiative organized on the 384th anniversary of the foundation of the city saw participation from Swiggy’s Chennai team and around 100 delivery executives associated. The waste collected was segregated by weight as well as recyclability, and subsequently handed over to the local municipal authority for disposal and recycling. The beach cleaning effort was followed by breakfast and refreshments for the volunteering Swiggy delivery executives and local team member.

Food Festival with more than 40 plus unique food stalls serving  delicious spread and electrifying live performances by varied artists marked the celebrations.
