Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi inaugurates Tribal Bhavan in Tiruvannamalai

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi inaugurated the Tribal Bhavan, a single-storey school building built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, at the Society for Rural Development (SFRD) in Guniganthur village atop Jawadhu Hills, Tiruvannamalai. During the event, he urged successful tribal alumni to return to their native communities to share the knowledge and experiences gained in their careers, encouraging younger generations to excel.
Governor Ravi highlighted the importance of establishing alumni associations in educational institutions, especially in tribal areas. These associations can provide valuable career guidance and instill confidence in current students. He also pointed out the socio-economic backwardness still prevalent in tribal areas, stressing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to uplifting tribal communities through various initiatives.
The Governor interacted with students at the SFRD, which has 2,250 students, including 950 tribal girls. He later met with tribal elders and hosted a dinner for tribal leaders and residents. K Arjunan, secretary, SFRD, Tiruvannamalai Collector D Bhaskara Pandian were also present during the event.
