Agriculture minister MRK Paneer Selvan asked the farmers to get benefitted from the state government’s solar pumpset scheme. A statement from DIPR said, “The state government has been implementing several schemes for the welfare of farmers for the past two years.
This year alone, the government has taken steps to provide electricity connection to more than one lakh farmers.
While tabling the budget for 2021-22 financial year, the Chief Minister had announced that steps would be taken to implement the solar pumpset scheme with an aim to make maximum use of solar energy for the benefit of farmers.”
Under the scheme, solar pumpsets would be sold with 70% subsidy and five years warranty for a particular type of pumpsets, the statement said, asking the farmers to register in Ulavan application or submit an application at the office of agriculture department to avail the scheme.
