Telecom Subscriber & Service Providers Meet held in Coimbatore

The Telecom Subscriber & Telecom Service Providers Meet, organized by Citizens' Voice Coimbatore, in collaboration with Women Consumer Protection Association (Tamil Nadu) Madurai and PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, was held recently at the PSGR Krishnammal College.
Held in association with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 225 consumers.
A major highlight of the meet was the active participation of representatives from leading telecom service providers – JIO and AIRTEL.

Participants raised a range of queries, particularly regarding mobile number portability, increasing data usage costs, 5G availability, and customer service inefficiencies. The responses fromJIO and Airtel officials were constructive, and a few subscriber concerns were taken up for follow-up resolution.
Representative from TRAI Dr. Pakkialakshmi, addressed the gathering and encouraged citizens to make informed telecom choices and report unresolved grievances using the official TRAI apps and platforms.
Dr. Gomathy, Professor ofPSGR Krishnammal College for Women, welcomed the gathering. Mr.C.M. Jayaraman, President of Citizens’ Voice Coimbatore, emphasized the need for regular dialogue between service providers and users.
