The following day of Diwali will be a public holiday, says Tamil Nadu government

The Tamil Nadu government has declared October 31, the day after Diwali, as a public holiday. Since Diwali falls on Thursday, October 31st, several parties had requested an additional holiday for the following Friday. In response, Chief Minister MK Stalin accepted the requests from government employees and teachers, granting the holiday on Friday, November 1st. This decision allows for an extended festive break.
