Thennarasu to contest on two-leaves symbol?

Ahead of the Erode East by-election scheduled on February 27, both the AIADMK leaders – Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam chaired a separate meeting with their supporters on Saturday. 

While former Chief Minister and AIADMK leader EPS chaired a meeting with the party 
functionaries from Salem district, his rival OPS held a meeting with his supporters at his house in Chennai.  As the nomination filling for the by-poll has commenced on January 31, political parties have started filing nominations for their candidates. While EPS’s faction announced Thennarasu as their candidate, OPS’s faction announced Senthil Murugan as their candidate.

Meanwhile, EPS has organized a meeting with party functionaries from Salem district including district general committee and executive committee members. 

At the meeting, both the basic membership cards and identity cards were distributed.  Similarly, in the meeting organized by OPS, Vaithiyalingam, Manoj Pandian, JCD Prabhakar and others attended and discussion regarding nominating a common candidate and withdrawal of their announcement regarding Senthil Murugan were discussed.According to the sources, Thennarasu is likely to be announced as the candidate of AIADMK by both the factions as EPS has more supporters in the party than OPS.
