Erode district differently abled welfare association appealed to the government to grant 10 percent quota for diffables in all government schemes.
The association meeting held at Erode on Sunday was chaired by its district president Durairaj, vice president Murali, secretary Senthilkumar, treasurer Navaneethakrishnan and Namakkal district president Palanivelrajan.
They said the association will hold a suyamvaram for diffables in September or October and arrange marriage for them under the newly announced marriage assistance scheme of HR and CE scheme. They sought 5 percent quota for the diffables in parliament, assemblies and local bodies, Rs 3000 per month as pension for diffables and Rs 5000 for persons with acute disability and MR persons as given in Andhra, and appointment of separate neuro doctor for diffables in the GH.
