Thoothukudi police firing: Stalin orders additional Rs 5 lakh compensation to victim’s kin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday issued an order to provide an additional compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of the 13 people who were killed during police firing in Thoothukudi in May 2018.

The announcement regarding the enhanced compensation was made by the Chief Minister in the legislative assembly during the debate on the Justice Aruna Jagadeesan commission’s report.

With the payment of additional Rs 5 lakh, kin of the victims would be receiving a compensation of Rs 65 lakh from the Chief Minister’s public relief fund.
