Tamil Nadu players Tulasimathi Murugesan and Manisha Ramdas have set a record by winning silver and bronze respectively in badminton women's singles category at the 17 th Paralympic Games that began in Paris on August 28
The two Indian star players in the same category played tremendously and advanced to the semi-finals. The tragedy was that Tulsi and Manisha had to face each other in the semi-final.
In this match, Tulsimathi played better than Manisha and advanced to the final by winning two straight sets 23--12, 21-17.
But in the final, Tulsimathi lost the chance to win the gold after losing 21-17, 21-10 against the Chinese player.
Tulsimathi won the silver medal and Manisha the bronze medal. And in today's Badminton tournament, Nityasree from Tamil Nadu won the bronze medal by defeating Indonesia's Rina Marlina. Tamil Nadu sports women have become the first three Indian athletes to win medals in the Paralympics. Prime Minister Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin congratulated them for winning the medal.
