Tiruppur Collector inspects National Disaster Day mock drill in the district

Tiruppur District Collector T Christuraj inspected a National Disaster Day mock drill organised by the fire safety department at the Tiruppur Collector's office on October 14. The drill aimed to educate the public on how to respond to natural disasters, especially during the ongoing North-East monsoon season.
During the event, the Collector emphasised the importance of being prepared for potential flooding due to heavy rains. The mock drill demonstrated how individuals can protect themselves before rescue teams arrive. It also covered techniques for helping non-swimmers escape flooded areas and how to use household items as flotation devices to move toward safety.
Key officials present at the event included Personal Assistant to the Collector Jayaraman, District Fire Safety Officer Annadurai, Project Director Sam Santhakumar, Assistant District Officers Illanchezhiyan and Veeraraj, Tahsildar Jayalakshmi, and other fire safety personnel.
