Tiruvannamalai Collector inaugurates Anganwadi centre

District collector K Tharpagaraj on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Anganwadi centre in Melathikaan area of the district.
The centre has been established for the welfare of tribal children residing in the locality under the PM JANMAN scheme through the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). New Anganwadi centres are being operated at 11 places in temporary buildings in the district.
The Anganwadi centre which is established in Irular housing area is considered a major development. Following this, ten new centres are made operational in areas including Kilnachipattu, Annamalai Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Olakalapadi, Kovil Street, Melmuthanur, Nadapattu, Irular Nagar, Kovalam and Jagannathapuram.
ICDS project officer Meenambigai, tahsildar Mohanaraman, child development officer Veena and others attended the event.
