A consultative meeting on “My Town, My Dream” under the District Vision 2030 initiative was held at the Tiruvannamalai District Collectorate on Friday, with Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker K. Pichandi chairing the session. District Collector K. Tharbagaraj presided.
Addressing the gathering, Pichandi said the State government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was implementing people-centric schemes with a clear focus on inclusive growth. Emphasising the theme “Our goal is the welfare of our district,” he said the Vision 2030 plan aims to transform Tiruvannamalai into a leading district across sectors by the end of the decade.
He stressed that inputs from experts, achievers and volunteers in education, industry, technology, agriculture, sports and business were crucial for shaping a comprehensive roadmap. Constructive suggestions from the public, he said, would play a key role in ensuring sustainable development.
Representatives of various associations, manufacturers, traders and charitable organisations placed their demands and development proposals during the interaction. The Collector said the suggestions would be consolidated and forwarded to the State government as part of an integrated district development report.
MLA M.P. Giri, Corporation Mayor Nirmala Velmaran, State Athletics Association Vice-President E.V. Vegampan, District Rural Development Agency Project Director R. Mani and senior officials from various departments participated.
