TMC stages demo against property tax hike

 TMC cadres led by party president and MP GK Vasan staged a demonstration at Erode on Monday in protest against steep rise in property tax in the state.
In his speech, he cited the DMK manifesto which assured that the tax would not be hiked till the economic condition of people which were affected due to corona, improves. But, now, it blamed the Centre for hiking the tax. 

The DMK's tendency is to invoke the Centre for its benefit.  But the hike  from 25 to 150 percent became a rude shock on the people who did not yet recover from corona impact and loss of revenue. 

He chided DMK for cancelling many welfare schemes of previous AIADMK rule, steep rise  in prices of yarn, crisis in textile sector, acute power shortage,  worsening law and order situation, lock up deaths, increasing number of Tasmac shops and narcotic habit among college and school students etc. 

TMC leaders Vidiyal Sekar, Arumugam, Yuvaraja, Vijayakumar, Gowthaman and many functionaies of Erode, Namakkal, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupur, and Karur spoke.
