TN's first Pickleball World Rankings 200 Tournament held at Coimbatore

Coimbatore Super Smashers, the city first professional pickleball team which is also a part of the Global Sports League, organised the first edition of Coimbatore Pickleball Open at Pickleball Clubhouse at Trichy Road on August 23 and 24.
It was  Tamil Nadu's first Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) 200 tournament. While PWR 50 represented inter-club-level tournaments and PWR 100 represented entry-level tournaments, PWR 200 denoted tournaments that were held at regional level, where multiple clubs from various cities clash to receive more points and reach higher stages.
Coimbatore District Collector G.Pavankumar took part in the event as the Chief Guest. R.Sundar, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust attended.
The total prize money is Rs.4 lakhs + goodies worth Rs.3 lakh. The event was livestreamed on FanCode, an OTT platform and aired live on YouTube.
This tournament was recognised by the Indian Pickleball Association, and officials from the association oversaw it to ensure PWR ranking compliance for open categories.
On the inaugural day of the tournament, Coimbatore Super Smashers officially launched their franchise team. The announcement is expected to mark the team's formal entry into India's professional pickleball circuit.
