Members of TNGEA will strike work on March 28 to press its charter of demands, said the union state deputy general secretary M Srinivasan. Heading the union stir at the Collectorate on Wednesday, he said the main demands are: restoring old pension, EL surrender, DA benefits, withdrawal of GOs 139, 152, 115 which could wipe out permanent posts in the urban local bodies and snatch the job opportunities of youths, time scale for all those who were getting non standard time scale, removal of drawbacks in the health insurance scheme and filling up of over 6 lakh vacancies. To press the demands, it is decided to hold state wide campaign from Jan 9 to 27, district level rallies on Feb 10 and strike work on March 28, he added.
