Toshiba contracts for eight sewage treatment plants in Bengaluru

Toshiba Water Solutions Private Limited, a subsidiary of Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation, has been awarded a contract by the Bangalore*1 Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for the design, upgradation, rehabilitation, and operation & maintenance (O&M) services of three Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and five STPs in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
This contract is the second set of contracts with BWSSB, showcasing Toshiba Water's superior EPC*2 and O&M services.
The contract includes the upgradation, rehabilitation, and O&M services for Kadubeesanahalli STP, Mylasandra STP, and Doddabele STP, as well as the upgradation and rehabilitation for other five STPs in Bengaluru.
The Bengaluru core area, consisting of eight Urban Local Bodies and 110 villages, is considered the "Silicon Valley of India." Rapid industrial development has led to a growing population and urban expansion, making it crucial to improve the sanitation and water environment of these villages.
The National Urban Sanitation Policy in India and the Karnataka Water Policy in Karnataka aim to provide water supply and sewage services for the entire population.
Toshiba Water will engage in projects to upgrade sewage infrastructure to cope with the increasing population and conform to the revised latest effluent quality standard.
TISS and Toshiba Water aim to contribute to sustainable water recycling systems and environmentally advanced communities by combining their monitoring, control, energy-saving, and other solutions with Toshiba Water's expertise in EPC and O&M.
