Engineering and track maintenance work at Peelamedu railway yard in Coimbatore will lead to changes in train services on July 7, 8, and 10. To facilitate these works, several trains will be diverted via Irugur and Podanur, with adjustments to their usual stops.
Train No. 16159 Chennai Egmore – Mangalore Central Express, scheduled to run via Coimbatore on the affected dates, will be diverted to run via Irugur – Podanur. This train will skip its usual stops at Peelamedu, Coimbatore North, and Coimbatore Junction. Similarly, Train No. 22644 Patna – Ernakulam Express, scheduled to run on July 7, will also be diverted via Irugur – Podanur, skipping Coimbatore Junction and stopping at Podanur Junction instead.
Other trains affected by this diversion include Train No. 22504 Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari Vivek Express, Train No. 12508 Silchar – Thiruvananthapuram Express, Train No. 12626 New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express, and Train No. 12677 KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Junction Intercity Express. All these trains will be rerouted via Irugur – Podanur, bypassing Coimbatore Junction and making a stop at Podanur Junction.
Additionally, Train No. 13352 Alappuzha – Dhanbad Express and Train No. 12678 Ernakulam Junction – KSR Bengaluru Intercity Express, scheduled to run on the same dates, will be diverted via Podanur – Irugur. Both trains will skip Coimbatore Junction and stop at Podanur Junction at specified times.
Moreover, Train No. 06801 Erode – Coimbatore Train, scheduled to leave Erode at 07.50 hrs, will be short-terminated at Irugur on July 7, 8, and 10, not running between Irugur and Coimbatore Junction on these dates. Train No. 06805 Coimbatore – Shoranur Train, usually departing from Coimbatore Junction at 11.55 hrs, will instead depart from Podanur Junction at 12.05 hrs on the affected dates.
