Training for students on herbs and their benefits at Erode

A special training on herbs and their benefits was conducted yesterday for Plus Two Agri Group students of Perundurai Government Higher Secondary School of Agriculture. 
Dhanwandri volunteer group leader Aasithambi explained about herbs by bringing it. School Headmaster K Muruganandam, Agriculture teacher Kandan, Botany teacher Arun Kumar, volunteers Dr. Murthy, K.P. Arumugam presided. .
Aasithambi, a retired teacher, brought the following herbs in person and explained them to the students:  Vettiver, Thetankottai, Insulin plant, Licorice, Cumin, Kattukodi, Mookratti, Pachai Karpuram, Black Basil, Vilvam, Lemon grass, Umattangai, Garbagemanii, Cat's bow, Sirukurinjan, Urumatti, Snake plant Marul, Syrianangai, Prandai, Ranakali, Sothukathazhai, Additional, Thuthuvalai, Thulasi, Kudiraikulambu, Mint, Omam, Sothukkathazhai salts, Nitya Kalyani, Arali, Marudhani etc. He said: Herbs are available all around us. Also available at Government Herbal Farm, Mettur. These herbs cure innumerable diseases like cough, cold, kidney problems, skin diseases, ulcers, diabetes, jaundice, phlegm, body pain etc. Animals know the herbals which could cure their diseases so that they use them. But most people do not know the benefits of these herbs. Hence this awareness meeting is conducted free of charge for the students in many schools. Students especially  agriculture students should know the herbs well and take them to the people to help them get medical facility at low cost. The medical benefits of herbs were innovated by Sidhars several thousand years back.
The students can grow the herbs in their areas. When they get to know a certain herb well and utilize its medicinal properties, they can get enormous wealth. They can also become big industrialists especially when they produce and export medicines from herbs.
