In the closing ceremony of the training, retired Justice JV Raju cited a Supreme Court order that mandated the implementation of the act at workplaces. “The government also insists that an internal complaint committee should be set up in all the places where more than 10 women work. In addition, it is necessary to raise awareness through seminars, awareness campaigns and other means,” he said.
He said that the government has also appointed officials to monitor and inspect the functioning of the committee. If the committee was not set up, concerned companies’ licenses will be canceled, he added. Tahsildar Jagadeesan also attended the
training.
