Tribals seek caste certificates

At the public grievance redressal day meeting, held at the Erode Collectorate under the chairmanship of Collector H.Krishnanunni,  a group of herdsmen gathered with their families and petitioned the Collector.  In it they say: 185 families have been living for the last 28 years at JJ in Vadukappatti village, Modakkurichi Taluk, Erode district with having family card, Aadhar card and voter card given by the government. 

 For the last 28 years our children have been very backward in education.  Until now we do not have caste certificate.  The Erode RDO has issued an order to issue caste certificates to about 250 persons online.  So far, only 3 out of 250 persons have been issued caste certificates.  Steps should be taken to issue caste certificates to others without delay, they said.
