Housing Minister S Muthusamy informed that the sports minister Udayanidhi Stalin will visit Erode on Feb 8 to distribute various welfare aid to the SHG women at a function held at the Solar new bus stand, Erode.
He inaugurated a month long road safety celebration by flagging off a rally at the Erode Central Bus stand on Thursday.
He said that the government has introduced various schemes to check road accidents and Nammai kakkum 48 scheme to give medical treatment for accident victims in private hospitals. Observing road traffic norms is must to check accidents.
He refuted a charge that TASMAC shops collect Rs 10 extra per bottle and refused to speak on hike in prices of liquor recently. Regarding the opposition of drivers
on the hefty punishment up-to 10 years in fatal accidents as per the Central Act, he said the government would decide on the issue.
