Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should apologise to Tamil Nadu people and release funds

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had previously stated that if Tamil Nadu refused to accept the National Education Policy and the three-language policy, the central government would not be able to provide Rs.5,000 crore in funds.
Tamil Nadu parliamentarians, including those from the DMK, raised slogans in the Lok Sabha yesterday, condemning this unconstitutional stance and asserting Tamil Nadu’s financial rights and right to education.
Every state in India has the right to determine its education and language policies based on its needs. In Tamil Nadu, the bilingual policy was firmly established following the language struggle. However, the BJP-led central government, which follows a single-party rule mindset, is attempting to impose a language policy by withholding funds.
As part of this effort, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan dismissed the concerns of Tamil Nadu MPs and insulted the people's representatives by calling them uncivilized. He justified the forced imposition of the three-language policy and spoke arrogantly to MPs who were advocating for the state’s financial rights.
Although he retracted his statement after facing widespread criticism, that alone is not enough.
Valluvar has taught us to "guard our tongue," a principle that applies to both ordinary citizens and those in the highest positions of power. However, many in leadership roles, despite their education, often choose to speak recklessly, disregarding their conscience. This is unacceptable.
Such actions are nothing more than a power play for political gain. That is why Chief Minister MK Stalin has insisted that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should reconsider his approach.
Dharmendra Pradhan must apologise to the people of Tamil Nadu for his remarks. He should also immediately release the funds due to the state and ensure a fair resolution in the true spirit of justice!
