United Technical College celebrates 15th annual sports day in Coimbatore

The 15th annual sports festival of United Technical College at Periyanaickenpalayam was a vibrant celebration filled with various competitions and enthusiastic participation. Divided into four teams - White Mavericks, Black Panthers, Red Titans, and Blue Braves - students showcased their athletic prowess across a range of sports including football, volleyball, kabaddi, chess, cricket, go-go, volleyball, and throwball for both boys and girls. Additionally, athletics events such as sprints, discus throw, and shot put added to the excitement of the day.

Dr. Jayapal, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Maruti College of Physical Education, graced the occasion as a special guest. In his address, he emphasised the importance of sports in the holistic development of engineering students, encouraging them to excel both academically and athletically. Abinesh and Surya were recognised as the Best Sportsmen of the event, while Sanjana was honoured as the Best Sportswoman of the year.

In a closely contested overall championship, two teams - White Mavericks and Black Panthers - emerged as joint champions, each accumulating 55 points. The event was presided over by Shanmugam, the founder and president of the college, while Dr. Radhakrishnan, Principal of United College of Technology, delivered the welcome address. Ravichandran, the Physical Education Director, presented the annual report and extended warm greetings to all attendees, marking the successful culmination of yet another memorable sports day at United Technical College.
