A startling impersonation scam has rocked Uttar Pradesh, where six people allegedly secured government jobs as X-ray technicians using forged documents under the name of Arpit Singh of Agra.
Singh, ranked 80th in the 2016 recruitment list of 403 X-ray technicians, was the only genuine candidate. But within days, six impostors joined health centres in Balrampur, Farrukhabad, Banda, Rampur, Amroha, and Shamli, using fake appointment letters and even forged Aadhaar details.
For the past nine years, the fraudsters have drawn nearly Rs4.5 crore in salaries, with each receiving Rs69,595 per month. The scam came to light after verification on the state’s ‘Manav Sampada’ online portal revealed identical names, fathers’ names, and dates of birth.
Following a complaint by Dr. Ranjana Khare, Director of the Paramedical Department, police registered a case at Wazirganj Police Station and launched a hunt for the absconding gang.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed Deputy CM and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak to take strict action, warning that no one involved in the fraud will be spared.
