Vegetable show inaugurated in Nilgiris

Ramachandran inaugurated the 12th vegetable show during the inaugural function of the summer festival season at Nehru park near Kotagiri in the district on Saturday. The district collector Amrith spoke about the vegetable show and Nilgiris MP delivered the special speech. All the vegetables that are grown in the state are used in the show. The horticulture department has created stalls with the help of farmers producers companies and volunteers to create awareness about organic farming. 
To attract the public, decorations were made with vegetables like potatoes and bell peppers. To celebrate the 200th year of the establishment of Ooty, the number – 001 200 – was decorated with vegetables. 
Stalls were set up to explain the pride of districts like Coimbatore, Theni, Tirupur and Tiruvannamalai. After the vegetable show, the government has decided to organize a rose show at Rose garden, perfume show at Gudalur, flower show at botanical garden and fruits show at Coonoor SIMS park.
