Villarasampatti lake is found without maintenance

Villarasambhatti lake, Erode, is left unmaintained though Rs 11 crore  was spent  for its renovation, and creating boating and park facilities, during the previous AIADMK rule in 2017. There is an expectation among the public that the pond should be maintained properly and boating facility should be started.

The 26.65 acre pond in the Kuruvilparaivalasu area of ​​the Erode Corporation could get seepage water of the LBP irrigation canal. Only during its inaugural, 2 boats were operated. The walkers path around the lake and park were remained closed. 

The locals demanded maintenance of the lake properly and restoration of facilities. If need the corporation can collect a fee from the visitors. The ward councillor Kumaravel said that the corporation commissioner assured to take steps to maintain the lake when he spoke on the issue in the council meeting. Rs 8 cr was allotted to construct foot path around the lake and build compound wall around it, he added.
