Voter awareness campaign via silk saree in TV malai

Under the guidance of District Electoral Officer and District Collector D Bhaskara Pandian, a voter awareness program was conducted at the district collector's office complex in Thiruvannamalai. As part of the Integrated Child Development Program, the initiative aimed to educate and motivate first-time voters about the significance of participating in the electoral process.
Utilising a Call Center, 46,454 young voters from Tiruvannamalai district were contacted by phone to emphasise the importance of voting regularly on Election Day.
A team of 50 female employees from various areas within the Department of Integrated Child Development Services sensitised 500 voters about their democratic duty to vote.
Additionally, to raise awareness among the public and government employees, slogans such as "Let's vote 100 percent" and "My vote, my duty" were prominently displayed at the District Collector's premises. Notably, a silk saree woven by Perumal, a weaver from the Anna Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society, featured the words "100 percent voting," symbolising the commitment to voter participation. Valued at Rs 70,000, the saree served as a unique visual reminder of the importance of voting.
