Water pollution problem

In their petition to the DRO Santhoshini Chandra at the Collectorate on Monday, women  of Bommanaikkanpudhur, near Gobi, opposed functioning of a paper board unit in the area due to its causing water pollution problem.

The power supply of the unit was disconnected on July 21, 2022. When TNEB officials came to restore power supply to the unit a few days back, people objected it.

So, the RDO ordered testing of water samples in 10 places in the area.  Gugalur town and Bommanaikkanpudhur Village Panchayats already adopted resolutions to remove the unit, they recalled.
