Prime Minister Modi attended the Aadi Thiruvadhirai festival held at Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at the time, he said that he was amazed by the exhibition related to the Cholas. The Prime Minister also expressed pride that the two names Rajarajan and Rajendran are the identity of our nation and mentioned that the Chola Empire was one of the golden ages of our country.
A statement issued by Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam president Vijay has attracted attention in this regard. In it, he criticized Prime Minister Modi by saying, “The Prime Minister talked about the pride of the Cholas as if he was teaching us a lesson.”
Vijay has made an accusation that the DMK government, forgetting that it is their duty to celebrate the pride of the Chola Empire, has taken refuge in the BJP government and mortgaged Tamil Nadu, and is now mortgaged the pride of the Tamils, just as it mortgaged Tamil Nadu.
Above all, should the DMK and BJP, which pretend to be opposites and secretly join hands to stage a political drama, be called hypocrites? Vijay has thrown harsh words.
The BJP has also reacted in the same way. “In what state of mind did Vijay sign this statement; it is not known who wrote it. Vijay’s influence is decreasing. It is shameful that he has issued this statement with a hypocrisy to show that I am in this same state,” the BJP has said.
Vijay is vaguely speaking as if he has taken and overturned all the historical facts that the DMK government has done to the Tamils and the Chola kings without knowing it. The statue of Rajaraja Chola, the festival of the Thanjavur Big Temple and the celebration of the thousandth year are all history. If Vijay did not know this, then at least the intellectuals present could have told him. Vijay could have said this for politics.
DMK is working for the Tamils, BJP is standing against the Tamils. Isn't it a shameful act to give a statement that puts both parties on the same page? Trying to bring these two together is the hypocrisy that Vijay is playing. There is nothing surprising if Vijay says in his next statement that there is an indirect relationship between DMK and AIADMK.
So, the people of Tamil Nadu will clearly understand that what Vijay is playing is hypocrisy.
