Why EPS invites 'unwilling' parties?

Why EPS invites 'unwilling' parties?

With less than a year to go before the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, political parties have already begun their campaigns.
While it has been confirmed that the same alliance led by the DMK - including the Congress, VCK, Communist, and MDMK - will contest this election as well, the AIADMK and BJP have joined hands in the opposition. The newly formed TVK led by actor Vijay and Seeman's Naam Tamilar Party are planning to contest separately.
In this situation, Edappadi Palaniswami has once again invited Vijay's TVK and Seeman's NTK to join the AIADMK alliance. But TVK has rejected it. The party has officially announced that ``it will win a huge victory in the 2026 assembly elections and form a new government under the leadership of Vijay.''
On the other hand, Naam Tamilar Party Chief Coordinator Seeman, who responded to Palaniswami's call, replied, "There are 8 months until the election; wait and see," and asked, "How can evil be destroyed with evil?"
While the TVK and NTK did not take Palaniswami's earlier invitation to join an alliance seriously, Vijay and Seeman have now categorically stated that they will not approach the door that Palaniswami has opened for an alliance again.
Edappadi Palaniswami invited the VCK and the Communist parties, which are already in the DMK alliance. The parties refused to accept and the leaders of those parties, Thirumavalavan, Mutharasan and Shanmugam, have firmly stated that they will never form an alliance with the AIADMK, which has allied itself with the BJP on communal lines.
It is not clear on what basis Edappadi Palaniswami invited TVK to the alliance, as he has been saying that “AIADMK will form a single-party government in the 2026 assembly elections.” There is no point in inviting him when the party has already announced that Vijay is the chief ministerial candidate. Will Edappadi Palaniswami accept Vijay as the chief ministerial candidate?
To invite a party to an alliance, it first approach the leaders of that party. If it gets the green signal, then it will hold open talks and form an alliance. Edappadi Palaniswami is knowing well that they will not come to his alliance. But he  publicly invites them just to create some excitement in his campaign, and will not achieve any other benefit.
First, Edappadi Palaniswami should consolidate his power by establishing an alliance with the BJP in a way that is memorable to the people. What can he say if he is unable to properly coordinate an alliance with the BJP.
