Will PM Modi address the continuous arrests of TN fishermen during his visit to Sri Lanka?

The Sri Lankan Navy has been systematically arresting Tamil Nadu fishermen at an unprecedented rate, making them hesitant to venture into the sea. The continuous arrests, severe imprisonment, heavy fines, and boat confiscations have severely affected their livelihood, forcing many to migrate in search of alternative work.
In an effort to find a peaceful resolution, fishermen representatives from both India and Sri Lanka met in Vavuniya, Sri Lanka, the day before yesterday. The meeting included members of the Rameswaram Fishermen’s Association and the Northern Sri Lanka Fishermen’s Association, who emphasized the need for bilateral discussions between the Indian and Sri Lankan governments to resolve this long-standing issue.
Even as these talks were underway, the Sri Lankan Navy arrested 11 fishermen from Rameswaram yesterday and seized their fishing boat, causing shock and outrage. This incident is highly condemnable.
In this critical situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Sri Lanka next month. During this visit, he must hold discussions with the Sri Lankan government to address the plight of Tamil Nadu fishermen. The Tamil Nadu government and the people of Tamil Nadu demand the unconditional release of all fishermen imprisoned in Sri Lanka along with their confiscated boats.
Given the narrow sea boundary between India and Sri Lanka, it is inevitable that fishermen from both countries may inadvertently cross borders. India should make Sri Lanka understand this reality. Prime Minister Modi must initiate diplomatic talks to establish a permanent solution for Tamil Nadu fishermen.
His top priority during his visit to Sri Lanka should be to find a resolution to this issue. While an immediate solution may not be possible, he must take concrete steps towards progress before returning to India.
The question remains what action will Prime Minister Modi take?
