Will the US attack on Iran spark a world war?

Will the US attack on Iran spark a world war?

On Sunday, the United States attacked nuclear facilities in Iran. The US President Donald Trump further warned of severe action upon retaliation, and advised Iran to seek peace. However, Iran had pledged to use all its means to defend its sovereignty.
Ever since Israel first attacked Iran on June 13, the conflict has been going on between the countries non-stop for more than a week.
The US initially claimed that it had nothing to do with their conflict. Last week, it sought time to think of attacking Iran, and on Sunday, it went ahead and attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities. It has been a goal for Israel to attach nuclear facilities functioning under mountains in Iran.
Confirming that they have powerful bombs, the US dropped 12 bombs from six B-2 bombers on Iran’s three nuclear sites including Fordow nuclear facility, which has been the centre of the country’s nuclear energy.
Admitting the attack publicly, Trump said that the US destroyed nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan in an attack. It was appreciated highly by Israel.
Following the attack, Iran has intensified its attack on Israel with drones and missiles. At least 16 people were said to be injured in the latest attack, as per Israeli emergency services. With the US’ involved, the path towards ceasefire has been closed. By attacking Iran, the US has started a new war in the Middle East, and increased the risk of escalating the conflict. The US’ action has also invited strong condemnation from Islamic and Arab countries especially Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The Turkish president has called on all Islamic countries to unite in support of Iran. The Houthi rebels have warned of attacking US warships in the Black Sea.
At a time when the war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for years, the US has escalated the tension between Iran and Israel by stepping in between them. With the involvement of multiple nuclear-weaponized countries, the conflict might soon turn into World War III. However, let’s hope that other countries just do not let that happen.
