A woman who underwent surgery to remove a cyst from her uterus at Erode Government General Hospital complained to District Collector of Erode that her body was further affected due to the operation.
Jeeva, 40, of Erode Shastri Nagar, was leading life by working as maid servant. Her husband Murugan died 7 years ago and she has a 17-year-old daughter with mental retardation. She said in her petition that it was revealed that she has a uterine tumor in her abdomen.
It was confirmed in the scan test conducted in a petition private hospital. As she was poor, she got admission in the presence Erode GH on June 30 and surgery was done on July 30. But, since then, the urine has been coming incessantly without control. When the doctor was asked doctors said there was a small mistake in the surgery and it was not possible to treat her in the GH. They are indifferently replying to her problem and advised her to go to Salem or Coimbatore government hospital for further
treatment.
So, the collector should take appropriate action and help her, she pleaded. As she is still in Erode GH, Jeeva's sister Amuta and cousin Sivashanmugam presented her petition to the district collector. Then they said that we are looking after a mentally retarded girl child of her in Erode. There is no facility for her to go to Salem or Coimbatore. Her health condition is bad. So, action should be taken against the doctor who behaved negligently during the operation, and help her to get proper treatment immediately, they pleaded.
