Woman cyclists from Netherlands meet SHG groups and disabled children in Salem

A group of women cyclists from Netherlands visited Salem on their way to Madurai from Mahabalipuram. Comprised of doctors, engineers and lawyers the group members were welcomed by P.Murugesan, Society for Community Development Project. Traditional Kumbh and Aarthi welcome by self-help group women was accorded to the foreign visitors.

The group later interacted with the differently abled children and their parents who are the beneficiaries of Society for Community Development. They keenly noted the presentation on physiotherapy treatment given to the differently abled children.They also heard from the experiences of women who were able to transform their family economic condition by livestock farming. 

Representing the group, Caroline Van Dijk and Inieke Harder spoke about their cycling mission and also about their work in Netherlands. Swathi, Treasurer,Society for CommunityDevelopment Project gave vote of thanks.
