Woman killed in a road accident on Avinashi Road

A 60-year-old woman died on the spot after a government bus ran over her head on Avinashi Road near Fun Mall in the city on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Vanajamani, a resident of Kalapatti.
She was traveling with her husband, Govindarajan, on a bike on Avinashi Road from Peelamedu towards Hopes College. When they neared Fun Mall, a government bus brushed against them. Govindarajan lost control of the bike, and both he and his wife fell to the ground. Vanajamani was trapped under the bus, which ran over her head. She died on the spot.
Upon being alerted, the police rushed to the scene. Further investigation is underway.
