World noise pollution prevention day observed

Erode IMA arranged a students awareness rally to observe World Noise Pollution Prevention Day and World Malaria Day at Erode
Flagging off the rally, the IMA national vice president Dr CN Raja said noise pollution was increasing in the nation day by day and in fact, India was said to be notice pollution rich nation due to over usage of horns in vehicles, playing music through cone type amplifiers during festivals, functions etc.Crackers with heavy sound were burst. Even hospitals, schools worshipping places were not free from the pollution.

In textiles mills, powerlooms, continuous sound was heard. If the workers hear more than 80 decibels continuously for 10 years, his hearing ability was affected by 40-50  percent.

Though there were various laws to prevent the pollution, they were not fully enforced. So, now, noise free zones were announced in some areas including airports.  In abroad,  people did not use the horns unnecessarily while driving. Over hearing of horns, or much noise would cause mental stress, health hazards  and shoot up BP, he cautioned. Though Malaria fever was almost  under control, people affected with malaria should immediately contact doctors to get immediate remedy. Now, Corona 4th wave was said to be spreading in the world including China and some western nations.  So, people should cooperate to the government in following safety norms including wearing masks, getting vaccines etc.  Now it seemed that people were apathetic towards safety norms and vaccination. Such complacency should be removed for their safety, he advised. IMA functionaries
T Saravanan, SS Sugumar and many others attended.
