World’s first Parai music conference to be held on June 18

The world’s first Parai music conference is to take place at Santhalinga Adigalar Tamil college of arts and science at Perur in district on June 18 between 9 am and 9 pm. The conference is to be organized by Nimirvu art gallery and Perur Adheenam educational institutions.
 

The aim of organizing the conference is to take the music to the next generation not just in a cultural form but also as a musical instrument. The organizers have also planned to organize an exhibition with over 100 artefacts. In order to highlight Thirukkural, 1330 styles of Parai would be played at one place under the theme ‘1330 Thirukkural paraipadai. The music would be performed by artists from southern districts, rural areas and tribal areas. At the event, artists, writers and organizers who worked for the empowerment of the art and its artists would be honoured.
