The 45th. Summer Festival in Yercaud will begin on May 26, according to an official communication from K.N Nehru, the Minister for Municipal Administration and in-charge Salem District.
The festival being held after two years will be conducted for one week and will conclude on June 1, 2022. Several features have been planned to attract tourists and at the same time develop the small hill station, according to the official communication.
While the major attraction would the Flower Show at the Anna Park, the show would feature a large display of 5 lakh fresh and cut flowers. As part of the show a vegetable and fruit show will also be held. This year there will be an exclusive mango show. Salem being famous for tasty mango varieties, the show will feature several rare and common varieties of mangoes grow in the region.
Other attractions include an exhibition of all government department schemes and projects. During all the days of the festival contests like boat race, dog show and sports will be held for the public. A variety of cultural programmes will be held.Special buses from Salem to Yercaud and special buses for tourists to see major viewpoints in Yercaud has been arranged.
