Young student drives change through health and well-being schemes

A young student has taken an inspiring step toward promoting good health and well-being through her International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) exhibition project. Focused on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, she explored the four dimensions of health physical, mental, social, and emotional by engaging with medical professionals, organizing community events, and spreading awareness among her peers.
To encourage physical well-being, she interviewed doctors to understand the impact of unhealthy habits on diseases like obesity and diabetes. She also organized a Zumba session for her schoolmates, hosted a Kids’ Marathon with 130 participants, and introduced a reward system for students bringing nutritious meals.
Recognizing the importance of mental health, she created a Well-Being Wall in her classroom, led stress-relief activities like deep breathing exercises and fun games, and designed a mental health awareness chart for children.
Her commitment to addressing healthcare disparities led her to volunteer at a rural health camp, assisting doctors with basic tasks. She also conducted a survey on daily routines and health habits, gathering responses from over 400 participants to analyze lifestyle patterns.
Believing in the life-saving potential of first aid, she learned and taught essential techniques for treating minor burns, cuts, and nosebleeds to her schoolmates.
Through her exhibition project, she has not only deepened her understanding of health but has also inspired real change in her community, proving that young voices can drive meaningful impact.
