Youths told to use Skill Development Training Programme

Housing Minister S Muthusamy inaugurated a seminar on Skill Development Training Programme for Students in the Erode Government Arts and Science.  In his speech he said that  the scheme was already existed for educated youth to get self-employment.  But, only 10 days ago  the Chief Minister has made some changes in the scheme for the benefit of all in districts excluding  Chennai.  The training includes distribution of textbooks, in-service training, private sector employment for trainees. Besides,  Rs.1000 for 2 months if working in the home district, for three months if working in other districts, 6 months if working in other states.

Candidates who have opted for  training with job opportunity can enroll in Deendayal Upadhyaya Rural Skills Training Programme. Self-employment seeker after training can register under Rural Self-Employment Training Institute. The trainees will be provided employment in the private sector. Many highly educated youths meet me daily seeking Government Jobs. But, government jobs can be availed through TNPSC exams and none could be appointed directly.

So,  awareness about this programme can be made to get self employment opportunities.  The scheme should be taken to the students by posting a circular in all notice boards of all education institutions. The Department of Employment also provides specialized training to face competitive examinations.  Collector Krishnan Unni, College President Rajamanikkam,  Director Dr R Venkatachalam , Principal Dr Sankara Subramanian, Women Project Officers and students from various colleges participated in the event.
