Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated 11 Chief Minister’s Creative Centres and modern libraries built at a total cost of Rs.33.85 crore by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority and the Greater Chennai Corporation.
According to a government press release, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Creative Centre and a modern library constructed at a cost of Rs.12.74 crore in Ashok Nagar in the T. Nagar Assembly constituency.
From the same venue, he also inaugurated nine modern libraries with Chief Minister’s collections established by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority at a cost of Rs.16.87 crore and another modern library with Chief Minister’s collections built by the Greater Chennai Corporation at a cost of Rs.4.24 crore through video conference.
These facilities have been opened for the use of students and the public.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a playground, a Chennai Middle School building and Dr. Ambedkar Cooperative Store fair price shops constructed by the Greater Chennai Corporation at a cost of Rs.10.95 crore.
A total of 2,311 families are expected to benefit from the newly opened fair price shops.
He also inaugurated and inspected a senior citizens’ home built at a cost of Rs.11.88 crore in Rajaji Nagar in the Kolathur Assembly constituency.
The facility, constructed on an area of 25,500 square feet on behalf of the Villivakkam, Devipaliyamman and Ilangaliamman temples, will benefit 75 senior
citizens.
During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with the residents and inquired about the facilities provided to them.
Ministers P.K. Sekarbabu and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Chennai Mayor R. Priya and officials were present.
