CCTV footage helps trace Manipur worker in fish hop theft case

Police have launched an investigation after a worker from Manipur was accused of stealing several lakhs of rupees from a well known fish shop on 100 Feet Road in Coimbatore.
The fish shop, which has been operating for over 40 years, is a popular outlet known for selling a wide variety of sea fish and other seafood. Several workers from northern states are employed at the shop.
According to the shop owner, the cash collected from sales was kept on a table inside the shop. Later, it was found that a large amount of money had gone missing.
After reviewing the CCTV footage installed at the shop, the owner suspected a worker identified as Kagekai, 28, from Manipur, of stealing the cash.
Following this, the shop owner lodged a complaint with the Kattur Police Station.
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and are examining the CCTV footage as part of the investigation to trace the accused and recover the stolen money.
