The Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturers’ Welfare Association organised a seminar on business opportunities for MSMEs in Africa at the COSIEMA Auditorium in Kurichi SIDCO Industrial Estate on Friday.
Advocate Jani Jermans, Tamil Nadu President of the Asia-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered the keynote address and explained the procedures, guidelines and potential opportunities for entrepreneurs to start business ventures in African countries.
Members of the Asia-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including Ottakkuthan Ramasamy, Aquila Joyce, Teje Rao and Mohanraj, participated in the programme as special guests. The programme was presided over by R. Krishnamoorthy of KGK Industries, former president of COSIEMA. The welcome address was delivered by R. Kumar, honorary secretary of COSIEMA.

Maheswaran, Executive Committee members Loganathan, C. Rajesekaran and Molligadevi, along with former presidents, executive committee members and association members, attended the programme.
During the seminar, participants discussed the possibilities for small and medium enterprises in Coimbatore to explore trade and industrial opportunities in African markets. The association, established in 1973, has been implementing various welfare initiatives for entrepreneurs and workers in the SIDCO Industrial Estate for over five decades.
The programme concluded with a feedback session from members and a vote of thanks followed by a hi-tea.
